About us
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (CEM) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) carries out research and teaching in the field of materials science and technology and their applications.
The CEM has 80 professors and researchers and 10 technical and administrative support staff. A substantial number of doctoral, master's and bachelor's degree students participate in research that complements their training as they carry out their doctoral, master's and bachelor's theses.
The Department's activity is divided into two areas: Materials Science and Textile Engineering.
