Researchers and research groups TECTEX LITA patent a new product and manufacturing process of a composite material for construction

Researchers and research groups TECTEX LITA Josep Claramunt, Ardanuy Monica, Lucia Fernandez and Ventura Ivy, the Departments of Textile and Paper Engineering, Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Construction and Architectural UPC have developed a patent with prior examination “COMPOSITE PRODUCT BINDER INORGANIC AND FIBRE PLANTS, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING”, nº P201430772.

It is a new building material made with rigid matrix of mineral binders, reinforced with layers of non-woven fibers that provide overlapping excellent mechanical properties with good durability.

The material can be used as a coating for indoor and outdoor elements of cover, flooring and furniture, among others.
